Product Identification (PID) Locator – Windows
Desktop Operating Systems

Microsoft Windows 98, Windows Millennium Edition, and Windows 2000

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. In Control Panel, double-click System.
3. On the General tab, find the Product ID (PID), under Registered to.

Microsoft Windows XP and Windows Server 2003

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. In the Category View, click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System. In the Classic View, double-click System.
3. On the General tab, the Product ID (PID) is under Registered to.

Microsoft Windows Vista

1. Click Start and then click Control Panel.
2. In the Category View, click System and Maintenance, and then click System. In the Classic View, double-click System.
3. Under the Windows Activation section of the page, the Product ID (PID) is a 20 digit number next to Product ID.

Add-On Programs
Windows Live OneCare

1. Start Windows Live OneCare
2. On the menu window, click Help, and then click About Windows Live OneCare.
3. The Product ID (PID) is displayed at the bottom of this window.
